Now that you know how the first Toast of Taos was created, it's time to tell you about 2007 Toast of Taos, which is now only a few weeks away!
The last several months have been filled with our dance: the Mad Preparation Scramble.
We have put together the Bubbles and Balls Golf Tournament, including ordering all kinds of giveaways for the goodie bags, as well as beautiful trophies, champagne, and golf balls. The tournament includes a blind draw scramble on June 30 and a skins game on June 29. Deadline to enter is June 23.
We have created an exciting Kick-Off Wine Tasting of the Southwest. We have recruited over a dozen southwestern wineries, who will offer tastings of their terrific wines. We've arranged food, a display of the art entered in the poster competition and the wine bottle labels entered in the Southwest Wine Competition, and entertainment from New Mexico musicians ranging from rock to folk to classical. The event will be capped by the announcement of the winners of the Southwest Wine Competition. Come ogle the medals, dance in the sun, taste the juice of life, and join the fun on July 4 at the Taos Solar Center.
We have recruited galleries, wineries, and restaurants for our two big Art D'Vine Gallery tours. Each tour features at least 16 galleries, and in each gallery a winemaker and restaurant will offer delectable tastings. To put together these tours, we arrange liquor licenses and lodging for the winemakers, design and purchase beautiful Toast of Taos wine glasses, create maps and partner lists, and help all the partners coordinate.
We have arranged 4 exciting wine dinners on July 6, 7, 11, and 13. For each dinner, we have requested wines from dozens of southwestern winemakers. The restaurant chefs and sommoliers sample the wines and make their selections. Then the restaurants design the dinner menus while we coordinate delivery of the requested wines. Keep an eye on our website for menus from Stakeout Grill and Bar, Bravo! Fine Wine Food Spirits, De La Tierra at El Monte Sagrado, and Doc Martins at Taos Inn, which are being developed as I write this.
We have put together a concluding art and wine auction featuring tastings of great southwestern wine, delectable hors d'oeuvres, the incredible beauty of El Monte Sagrado, and a terrific selection of Taos art and southwest wine. Come mingle, sip, munch and celebrate.
